The Port of Yokkaichi in central Japan handled 15,507 TEUs of foreign-trade containers in November 2025, up 9.6% year on year, according to the Yokkaichi Port Authority. Exports accounted for 8,371 TEUs, up 8.4%, and imports, 7,136 TEUs, up 11.1%.

As for loaded containers, 7,106 TEUs were exported, up 12.5%, and 6,790 TEUs were imported, up 13.5%, for a total of 13,896 TEUs, up 13%, while empty containers totaled 1,611 TEUs, down 12.7%.

In the first 11 months through November, Yokkaichi processed 153,022 TEUs, down 1.1%, which consisted of 84,684 TEUs of exports, down 1.6%, and 68,338 TEUs of imports, down 0.6%.

Exports of full containers amounted to 72,019 TEUs, down 4.1%, and imports, 65,272 TEUs, up 1.7%, for a total of 137,291 TEUs, down 1.4%. Meanwhile, international feeder containers added up to 7,745 TEUs, down 7.2%.

Exports were largest in volume to Taiwan in January-November, which jumped 16% to 10,887 TEUs, while those to South Korea were as brisk, surging 14.9% to 9,892 TEUs and coming in second place. Ranked third were exports to China, which shrank 1.3% to 9,657 TEUs. Those to Vietnam ballooned 26% to 8,828 TEUs, and to India, a more modest 2.3% to 7,627 TEUs.

The leading source of imports was China, from which 14,224 TEUs were carried, up 21.6%. China was followed by the Philippines, from which 11,262 TEUs were imported, down 0.4%. Finishing in third, containers from Indonesia decreased 2.2% to 9,332 TEUs. Imports from South Korea plunged 15.7% to 7,685 TEUs, but those from Thailand improved 1.4% to 7,325 TEUs.
