CyberLogitec, a Singapore-based maritime, terminal, and logistics technology company, recently signed an agreement with BNCT, the operator of Busan New Port Terminal 5, to introduce an AI-based port safety monitoring and control system.

Making use of AI, the system monitors potential risk factors at cargo loading and unloading work round the clock to prevent moving apparatuses from hitting workers and other accidents from occurring. By introducing the system, scheduled to go into full operation in August, BNPT aims to operate the terminal with no disasters or accidents 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Having considered implementing a preventive safety monitoring system, BNCT decided to adopt CyberLogitec’s intelligent system, made up of high-precision positioning and AI analysis technologies. In addition to such technologies, the system also incorporates digital-twin technology to analyze and visualize port and harbor work in real time.

BNCT will introduce real-time kinematic (RTK) devices to 70 moving apparatuses and two AI-compatible CCTVs each to 14 gantry cranes for a total of 28.

CyberLogitec is a subsidiary of South Korea’s Eusu Holdings, which was formerly known as Hanjin Shipping Holdings.
