The latest KOBC Container Composite (KCCI) quoted 1,940 points on Monday, according to Korea Ocean Business Corp. (KOBC). The index fell 2.66% from a week earlier as spot rates for container exports from Busan continued to slide to the U.S., Europe and elsewhere.
The KCCIs decreased across the board on the main lanes, going down 2.89% to $1,849 per FEU to the U.S. West Coast, 3.24% to $2,899 per FEU to the U.S. East Coast, 4.53% to $2,969 per FEU to Europe and 3.46% to $3,012 per FEU to the Mediterranean.
On the non-main lanes, the KCCIs picked up 4.43% to $2,356 per FEU to Australia and 1.87% to $4,032 per FEU to Southern Africa. But the indices fell 2.66% to $2,375 per FEU to the Middle East, 7.21% to $4,080 per FEU to the east coast of Latin America, 0.03% to $2,954 per FEU to the west coast of Latin America and 3.3% to $4,343 per FEU to West Africa.
In the intra-Asia waters, the KCCIs stayed flat at $50 per FEU to China but declined 0.9% to $219 per FEU to Japan and 0.62% to $957 per FEU to Southeast Asia.
