Kobe-Osaka International Port Corp. will begin operating the Container Fast Pass (CONPAS) at the Port of Kobe’s PC-18 Berth on Friday, joined by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT)’s Kinki Regional Development Bureau.
Kobe-Osaka International Port Corp. is introducing CONPAS, a port information system developed by the ministry’s Kanto Regional Development Bureau, at Hanshin Port. The system has been in use at the Port of Osaka’s Yumeshima Container Terminals since March 29.
CONPAS will become operational at the Port of Kobe for the first time. In advance to its commencement, it will begin accepting bookings for moving loaded containers to and from the berth today. Kobe-Osaka International Port Corp. and the city of Kobe will hold briefing sessions on Wednesday and Oct. 10, which will be attended online as well.
CONPAS allows users to make bookings for delivering containers to and from terminals, obtain information on whether containers are ready to be delivered out of terminals, confirm information on transporting containers to terminals, send information on bookings and approaching vehicles and so on, contributing to streamlining various formalities to be completed at terminal gates.
