The average number of days for which containerships were in harbor at the world’s 20 leading ports (based on 2022 container throughput) in May decreased 4.7% from the previous month to 1.79, according to the Shanghai Shipping Exchange (SSE). From May 2022, it shrank 24.8%.

At China’s nine major ports, container freighters stayed for an average of 1.42 days, a decrease of 3.4% from 1.47 days in April. The average number of days for which container carriers were at anchor was 0.83, a shrinkage of 4.6% from 0.87. As these figures indicate, service levels were stable in general in China.
