The composite Ningbo Containerized Freight Index (NCFI) closed at 714.2 points in Week 17, down 4.3% from the previous week, the Ningbo Shipping Exchange (NBSE) announced last week. The Maritime Silk Road Index, set at 1,000 points in Week 10 of 2012, has fallen for two weeks in a row. It slid more steeply last week than in Week 16. On the 21 trade lanes to which the individual NCFIs cover, they increased on six, decreased on 14 and remained unchanged on one. On routes to major ports on the Maritime Silk Road, indices went up on those to three and down on those to 13.
