Intra-Asia container movement slowed 4.9% to 4,035,247 TEUs in November, suffering a year-on-year decline for four months running, the Japan Maritime Center recently reported in reference to statistics compiled by Container Trades Statistics (CTS) of Britain.
In January-November, a total of 42,862,257 TEUs were traded in the region, down 0.7%. Container traffic in Asia could further decelerate in the future under the influence of dull consumer sentiment in the U.S. and Europe, according to the center.
