The combined volume of oceangoing containerized shipments handled at Japan's six major ports (Tokyo, Kawasaki, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka and Kobe) decreased 4.9% to 1,145,193 TEUs in April, incurring a year-on-year contraction for three months in a row, according to preliminary statistics. Exports and imports both declined, going down 2.9% to 579,021 TEUs and 7% to 566,172 TEUs, respectively.
