The total volume of shipments handled at Saudi Arabia's ports in May registered a double-digit increase of 23.7% year on year to 21.04 million tons. Dry bulk cargo accounted for 4.17 million tons, up 2.5%, and liquid bulk cargo, 15.87 million tons, up 30.7%.
Containerized shipments totaled 600,107 TEUs, up 1.4%. Exports amounted to 175,958 TEUs, up 2.6%; imports, 176,978 TEUs, down 0.6%; and transshipment (T/S) containers, 247,172 TEUs, up 2%.
