The Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) yesterday unveiled the results of surveys and on-site inspections that it began in October 2021 on business transactions between shippers and logistics service providers.

The JFTC first conducted surveys among shippers and logistics service providers on the business transactions that they had continued to have on cargo transport and storage. Based on survey findings, the commission inspected 19 shippers in respect to labor costs, raw material expenses and cases in which they were suspected to reject to incur increases in energy costs. According to survey and inspection results, specific concerns were sent on paper to 641 shippers having problems that could violate the Anti-Monopoly Act.
