The Port of Nagoya handled a total of 209,010 TEUs of loaded and empty export and import containers in April, going down 7.4% and registering its first year-on-year loss in 15 months since January 2021. The Nagoya Port Authority (NPA) has unveiled preliminary container volumes at the port's oceangoing container terminals.

Looking at performances at individual terminals, Tobishima Pier North Container Terminal was responsible for 8,722 TEUs, up 3.4%, while containers to and from NCB Container terminal marked a double-digit improvement of 11.8% to amount to 48,236 TEUs. Throughput was favorable at Tobishima Pier South Container Terminal, too, swelling 9.7% to 22,240 TEUs. In contrast, Tobishima Pier South Side Container Terminal and Nabeta Pier Container Terminal both recorded double-digit shrinkages, processing 44,161 TEUs, down 13.7%, and 85,651 TEUs, down 16.6%, respectively.
