On the route between South Korea and China, a total of 3,447,013 TEUs of containers were traded in 2021, up 4.46% from the previous year, according to the Yellow Sea Liner Shipping Council (YSLSC). Direct exports and imports rose 6.94% to 3,226,149 TEUs, but feeder containers suffered a double-digit contraction of 21.99%, totaling 220,864 TEUs.

Containers from South Korea to China accounted for 1,295,139 TEUs, up 2.82%. Exports and imports improved 3.28% to 1,197,336 TEUs, while those moved in feeder services shrank 2.59% to 97,803 TEUs. Meanwhile, shipments from China to South Korea amounted to 2,151,874 TEUs, up 5.48%. Exports and imports swelled 9.23% to 2,028,813 TEUs, but feeder shipments fell a notable 32.65% to 123,061 TEUs.
