The composite China Containerized Freight Index (CCFI) and Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI) stood at 3,432.79 points and 5,109.6 points last week, rising 2.6% and 1.2% from the previous week, respectively, the Shanghai Shipping Exchange (SSE) unveiled on Friday. The CCFI reached a record high for the fifth week in a row, and the SCFI, the ninth week in a row.

On east-west trade routes, the indexes for container exports to Europe and the Mediterranean increased 2.4% to 5,269.67 points and 1.1% to 6,200.15 points, respectively. The indexes fell 1.1% to 2,649.67 points for those to the U.S. East Coast, but improved 8.5% to 2,630.05 points for those to the West Coast.

On north-south trades, the indexes went up 1.8% to 4,155.27 points for shipments to the Middle East Gulf and the Red Sea, up 0.7% to 2,829.49 points for those to Australia and New Zealand, down 1.6% to 2,940.66 points for those to South America, up 0.7% to 3,364.03 points for those to southern Africa and down 0.1% to 1,862.97 points for those to eastern and western Africa.

In intra-Asia waters, the indexes hiked 3.2% to 1,170.51 points for exports to Japan, 3.4% to 2,311.08 points for those to Southeast Asia and 1.5% to 1,239.99 points for those to South Korea.
