A total of 2,264,133 TEUs of containers were traded between South Korea and China in the first eight months (January-August) of 2021, which climbed 7.32% from a year earlier, according to statistics compiled by the Yellow Sea Liner Shipping Council (YSLSC). Exports and imports accounted for 2,116,079 TEUs in total, which increased 9.66%. Meanwhile, feeder containers amounted to 148,034 TEUS, which plunged 17.73%.

Outbound containers from South Korea to China totaled 841,413 TEUs, up 3.73%. More precisely, 775,807 TEUs were exported on the route, up 3.31%, while the remaining 65,606 TEUs were feeder containers, up 8.95%.
