Cargo Traffic at the Port of Singapore totaled 48.705 million tons in January, up 1.1% over the same period last year, according to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. Container volumes rose 7.2% from a year earlier to 30.081 million tons, or by number, to 3.115 million TEU s, up 7.1% year on year.
From January through June, cargo volumes increased by 3.0% compared with the same period a year earlier to 312.621 million tons, while container throughput swelled 4.7% to 182.115 million tons or by number 5.0% to 15.739 million TEUs.
