Containerized exports from Japan to China increased 4.8% to 852,732 tons in April, enjoying a year-on-year expansion for two back-to-back months, the Japan Maritime Center (JMC) announced recently, referring to trade statistics provided by the Ministry of Finance (MOF). They were valued at ¥830 billion, up 25.1%, registering a year-on-year improvement for five months in a row.
On the other hand, imports from China to Japan shrank 2.8% to 1,908,944 tons and 2.4% to ¥1.193 trillion, contracting from a year earlier for the first time in three months on both scales.
