The Shanghai Shipping Exchange (SSE) has unveiled freight rates in Week 13 for exporting containerized shipments from China. The composite China Containerized Freight Index (CCFI) went up 0.4% from the previous week to 1,871.78 points. The Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI), the index for containers from Shanghai, picked up 0.6% to 2,585.42 points. The indexes both increased from a week earlier for the first time in five weeks.

Looking at CCFIs for individual trade lanes, the indexes rose 1.5% to 2,953.88 points for containers destined to Europe and 1.3% to 3,372.37 points for those to the Mediterranean. On the trans-Pacific route, the CCFIs improved 3.5% to 1,484.44 points for containers to the U.S. East Coast and 0.2% to 1,309.8 points for those to the West Coast.

On other trades, the CCFIs increased 3.3% to 1,493.92 points for containers to Australia and New Zealand. In contrast, the indexes declined 5.5% to 1,710.58 points for those to the Middle East Gulf and the Red Sea and 1.4% to 1,685 points for those to South America. For containers bound for Japan, the CCFI hiked 0.6% to 926.22 points but fell 1.3% to 1,333.76 points for those to Southeast Asia.
