In February, the Port of Hong Kong suffered a 10.4% decline in box volumes. Total throughput for the month was 1.039 million TEUs, of which the Kwai Tsing terminals handled 914,000 TEUs, down 3.5% from the same period last year and the midstream operators processed 125,000 TEUs, down 41.3% year on year.
For the first two months, its box throughput fell 2.4% from a year earlier to 2.523 million TEUs, with the Kwai Tsing terminals boasting 4.4% increase on year to 2.163 million TEUs while the midstream operation losing 30.0% to 360,000 TEUs.
