The accumulated volume of containerized shipments traded between South Korea and China in the first 10 months (January-October) of 2020 increased a mild 4.49% from a year earlier to 2,704,699 TEUs, according to the Yellow Sea Liner Shipping Council (YSLSC). Containers traded directly on the route accounted for 2,472,127 TEUs, up 3.99%, while those moved via feeder services were more massive, enjoying a double-digit improvement of 10.11% to total 232,542 TEUs.

Exports from South Korea to China amounted to 1,041,298 TEUs, up 7.1%. The total throughput consisted of 960,764 TEUs of those traded directly between the economies, up 6.86%, and 80,534 TEUs of those handled via feeder services, up 10.06%.

Imports from China to South Korea came to 1,663,371 TEUs, up 2.9%, of which 1,511,363 TEUs were carried directly on the trade, up 2.24%, while 152,008 TEUs were transported via feeder services, up 10.14%.
