In the period from May 1 through May 10, container throughput of China's eight major hub ports fell by 7.3% year-on-year, and half of the ports lost volume by more than 15% year-on-year, according to the China Ports and Harbours Association.

Foreign trade business has been greatly affected, with ocean box throughput falling by 13.4% year-on-year. Except for the increase achieved by Tianjin Port, other ports reported decreased container volumes to varying degrees.

Customs statistics show that despite the growth of exports in April, such products as clothing, shoes, auto parts, bags, ceramics and others still have a larger decline.
