Exports from Japan to China plunged 13% to 850,474 tons in November 2019, registering a year-on-year contraction for the ninth consecutive month, according to figures compiled by the Japan Maritime Center (JMC) from trade statistics unveiled by the Ministry of Finance (MOF). In terms of value, they fell 4.8% to 720.3 billion yen, which also declined year on year for nine months running.

Meanwhile, imports from China to Japan decreased 9.3% to 1,808,972 tons, incurring a year-on-year shrinkage for two back-to-back months. On a value scale, they plummeted 13.1% to 1.076 trillion yen, which waned from a year earlier for three months in a row.
