The Port of Yokohama handled 215,268 TEUs of loaded and empty oceangoing containers in October 2019, which plunged 12.6% from the previous year, according to the City of Yokohama’s Port and Harbor Bureau. Exports accounted for 116,457 TEUs, down 10.3%, and imports, 98,811 TEUs, down 15.1%.

In the first 10 months (January-October), a total of 2,250,698 TEUs of international containerized shipments were moved to and from Yokohama, down 0.3% year on year. Exports fell 0.7% to 1,185,503 TEUs, but imports grew 0.2% to 1,065,195 TEUs.
