Container traffic between South Korea and Southeast Asia amounted to 2.947 million TEUs in 2018, up 5.3% year on year from 2,797 million TEUs. Containers from Southeast Asia to South Korea climbed 9.6% from 1.369 million TEUs to 1.504 million TEUs. Those from South Korea to Southeast Asia were also massive, growing 3.1% from 1.4 million TEUs to 1.443 million TEUs. By country, Vietnam was the leading trade partner to South Korea, and 924,000 TEUs were traded between them. Vietnam was followed by Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.
