The Shanghai Shipping Exchange's Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI) climbed 3.3 percent to last Friday's reading of 956.63 from a reading of 926.25 in the previous Friday, as the supply-demand picture generally remained stable last week.

Spot rates from Shanghai to Europe rose 4.7% to $761 per TEU while spot rates from Shanghai to the Mediterranean went up by 3.6% to $788 per TEU.

Meanwhile, spot rates from Shanghai to the U.S. West Coast leveled off at $2,587 per FEU, while spot rates from Shanghai to the U.S. East Coast fell slightly by 0.5% to $3,294 per FEU.
