The Thai government is reportedly mulling over a total ban on the import of electronic waster by enforcing Article 44 of the provisional constitution which may grant the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), or the military government to prohibit the inflow of hazardous electronic waste.

The import of e-waste into the country is increasing rapidly after China had prohibited electronic scraps from entering its borders in January 2018.
