In the first four months (January-April) of 2018, a total of 777,421 TEUs of containerized shipments were directly traded between China and Taiwan, decreasing 7.75% year on year.

By Taiwanese ports, Kaohsiung handled 403,762 TEUs, holding an overwhelming share of the pie; Keelung, 185,475 TEUs; Taichung, 160,344 TEUs and Taipei, 27,840 TEUs.

In April alone, 208,182 TEUs were moved between the economies, falling 1.04%.
