Asia World Port Terminal (AWPT), developed, managed and operated by Asia World Port Management Company Limited (AWPM) and one of the players providing professional port services in Myanmar, has commissioned 14 new pieces of port equipment for the long-term. These include 9 rubber-tired gantry cranes (RTGs), 1 mobile harbor crane, 2 reach stackers and 2 empty container handlers. The official ceremony to operate the new equipment was held on April 29. With the addition of new pieces of equipment, AWPT is expected to enhance its container handling capacity by 33%.

AWPT's investments aim to tap potential demand of the port business for the coming years based on its strong confidence in the future of Myanmar's economy.
