Qingdao New Qianwan Container Terminal (QQCTN) in Qingdao Port has recently achieved a record average crane productivity of 39.6 moves per hour with seven ship-to-shore (STS) cranes handling a total of 1,785 TEUs in nine hours for the 8,200-TEU ''Zim Chicago.''

QQCTN is Asia's first fully automated container terminal commissioned in May 2017 with remote controlled STS cranes, automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) and automatic stacking cranes (ASCs) in the yard. at the initial stage, the terminal’s average crane productivity was around 26. moves per hour. In November, the productivity has improved to as much as 35 moves per hour and processed 350,000 TEUs container exchanges per week.
