Indian dockworkers are set to walk off their jobs at 11 major ports including Kandla and Nhava Sheva after August 18 in protest against the government's policies to reform the National Port Trusts Act 1963 and enact the proposed Major Port Authorities Act 2016, which the labor unions think would lead to privatization and resulting layoff of dockworkers.
