Container throughput at the port of Hong Kong soared 12.7% from a year earlier to 1.436 million TEUs in February, marking an increase for seven consecutive months.
Throughput at the main Kwai Tsing terminals surged 16.8% to 1.136 million TEUs while at the non-Kwai Tsing terminals volumes jumped by 79.6% to 300,000 TEUs.
For the year-to-date, box volume rose 12.7% overall to 3.172 million TEUs and registered a 9.4% gain to 2.472 million TEUs for the Kwai Tsing terminals.
