Container throughput at the Canadian gateway port of Vancouver totaled 2,9290,585 TEUs in 2016, a 4% decrease from the previous year. Loaded import containers fell 3% from a year earlier to 1,505,942 TEUs while loaded export boxes rose 2% on year to 1,100,686 TEUs. Empties plunged 26% to 322,957 TEUs in 2016.
