China Railway Express (CRE)'s container train fully loaded with all kinds of cargoes left Yiwuxi Railway Station in eastern China's Zhejiang province on January 1 and arrived in London on January 18. This will be the first time for the CRE train to cross the English Channel and arrive in the British Isles. China Railway Express's first direct freight train to the U.K. carrying 34 containers loaded with textiles and other consumer goods left Yiwuxi Railway Station in eastern China's Zhejiang province on January 1 and arrived at the London Eurohub terminal in Barking on January 18, after a 17-day journey. This will be the first time for the China railway train to cross the English Channel and arrive in the British Isles.

The service was managed by Switzerland-based InterRail Group on behalf of China Railway.
