In October, 18.5 million TEUs of containers were traded to and from ports in China, which increased 5.9% year on year, according to the nation’s Ministry of Transport. In breakdown, coastal ports were responsible for 16.4 million TEUs, which went up 5.2%, while the remaining two million TEUs were moved to and from inland river ports, up 11.5%.
In the first 10 months (January-October), the total amounted to 180.681 million TEUs, which rose 3.7% from a year earlier. Coastal ports processed 161.413 million TEUs, which were up 3.5%, while the balance of 19.267 TEUs were carried to and from inland river ports, up 5.9%.
