Japan exported 973,014 tons of containerized shipments to China in June, which declined 7.4% from a year earlier, according to a report compiled by the Japan Maritime Center (JMC) from trade statistics released by the Ministry of Finance (MOF). They were valued at ¥576.8 billion, which plunged 11.6% and suffering a year-on-year decrease for the fourth consecutive month.

Meanwhile, containers from China to Japan fell 2.3% to 1,815,059 tons, which was the first year-on-year contraction in two months. They were sluggish in terms of value as well, going down 15.6% to ¥9,826 billion and incurring a year-on-year decrease for three months in a row.
