The Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore recently announced that container throughput at the Port of Singapore was sluggish in June. On a tonnage scale, it decreased 1.5% from a year earlier to 27,700,000 tons, and on a TEU scale, it fell 0.7% to 2,597,700 TEUs.

Container throughput was stagnant on a six-month basis, too. In the first half (January-June), it sank 4% to 163,400,000 tons on a tonnage scale and 5.1% to 15,181,400 TEUs on a TEU scale.

PSA Singapore was responsible for processing 15,020,000 TEUs in the first half, which waned 5.2% year on year from 15,840,000 TEUs.
