Dockworkers at the Port of Rotterdam are set to go on a series of 24-hour strikes in December and January in protest at potential job cuts, which may paralyze Europe’s largest port. The union members voted to support a three-day strike each in December and January. The first action will be staged between December 9 and 11, 2015.
The dockworkers are in protest of the commissioning of two fully-automated contain terminals at Maasvlakte which would create redundancies of labor forces.
