Jawaharlal Nehru Port Container Terminal (JNPCT) handled 131991 TEUs in August 2015, highest ever cargo handled since its inception. The previous record at the terminal was 131,234 TEUs achieved in April, 2006.
For the first five months (Apr-Aug) of the fiscal year 2015/16, throughput rose 2.23% from the same period last year to 583,648 TEUs.
