The Japan Maritime Center (JMC) unveiled on March 16 that exports of shipments from Japan to China soared 21.3% year on year to 902,170 tons in January, due to increases in waste plastic and paper. They were more robust on a value scale, growing 35.4% to \577 billion. On the other hand, imports plunged 13.9% to 2,009,067 tons. They, however, managed to increase in terms of value, rising 7% to \1.335 trillion.
