Vietnam's Transport Ministry is set to crack down on trucks and other vehicles carrying goods exceeding their capacity. Under the new Decree 107/2014/ND, owners of overloaded trucks transporting double their capacity will be fined VND7-8 million ($300-380) instead of the current VND5-7 million. Other drivers will be fined VND5-7 million as before. In case of violation, the driving licenses will be revoked.

The revised rules will be effective January 1, 2015.
