Predicting capacity tightening in the coming months to Chinese New Year holidays from February 18 to 24, 2014, container shipping lines in the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) are recommending a rate increase of $1,000 per FEU, effective December 15, 2014.

''With rates as low as they have been since 2011, lines have steadily reduced and consolidated services; they continue to play catch-up as demand ramps up beyond what had previously been expected,'' TSA Executive Administrator Brian Conrad said.
