Taiwanese authorities recently have passed a law which will allow freight forwarders to operate multi-country consolidation. This means that forwarders can consolidate exports to multiple destinations in a single container. They had been required to group goods in a container for a single country destination.
The new legislation is expected to improve Taiwan’s international logistics by enabling transshipment and re-export of consignments, thus creating a more competitive regional hub for ocean and air freight within the territory and boosting the amount of cargo as much as 600,000 tons.
