Philippines’ Cabinet Cluster on Port Congestion (CCPC) has instructed importers and brokers in the country that unclaimed customs-cleared containers in Manila ports be ransferred to ports in Subic and Batangas or any other location designated by the CCPC no later than September 8, 2014.

The move is aimed at improving backlogs at the two Manila ports. Reportedly, there are 2,500 overstaying customs-cleared containers piled up in North Port and 1,000 boxes in South Port.
