The Thai government has enacted the International Roads Transport Act with an aim to facilitate international cross-border road carriage under the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR), of 19 May 1956.

The new law took effect on March 17, 2014. It is applicable to a transport on the roads from Thailand to a destination in a foreign country and vice versa and governs the rights and duties of parties involved in the cross-border carriage of goods on roads.
