Vietnam Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System and the Vietnam Customs Information System (VNACCS/VCIS) has been officially put into force paving the way into the nation’s new electronic one-stop customs clearance regime.

The e-customs project, financed by Japan’s ODA, will allow exporters and importers to finish data processing in some seconds instead of waiting more than 30 minutes or a whole day sometimes for the clearance, thus saving time for customs clearance.

The Hanoi Customs Department officially implemented the system on April 1 at North Hanoi and Haiphong regional offices and will be extended nationwide by the end of June 2014 with the application in Binh Duong and Dong Nai Provinces on April 14, Da Nang on April 18 and Ho Chi Minh on May 19.
