Container traffic at the port of Singapore hit 32.6 million TEUs in 2013, a 2.9 percent increase over the 31.6 million TEUs in 2012, securing the position of the world's second busiest port after Shanghai. Total cargo tonnage handled last year rose 3.6 percent over 2012 to reach record 557.5 million tons.
