The Asia – Europe container trades have got back onto a growing track of growth after the volume marked a positive growth of 0.8% in June.
Westbound containerize cargo flow in October from Asia to Europe totaled 1,123,206 TEUs, representing an 8.5% increase over the same period last year, according to Container Trades Statistics (CTS). In the first ten months, box traffic on the trade amounted to 11,733,825 TEUs, up 3.9% year on year.
On the eastbound leg, CTS figures for October show a moderate increase of 4.4% with volume of 565,587 TEUs. In the first ten months, containerized imports from Europe to Asia added up to 5,650,357 TEUs, up 7.1% from the corresponding period in 2012.
