The TSA Revenue Index for services bound for the West Coast of the U.S. and interior point intermodal (IPI) services was 87.56 points in April 2013, the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) unveiled on Wednesday. The index was up by 0.99 points month on month from 86.57 points and up by 0.50 points year on year from 87.06 points.

On the other hand, the TSA Revenue Index for services destined to the East and Gulf Coasts stood at 78.33 in the month in question. The index went down by 1.54 points from the previous month, when it was 79.87 points, suffering a month-on-month decline for two months in a row. It was down 3.21 points from a year earlier, when it was 81.54 points.

The TSA's revenue index tracks average revenue per FEU, which includes contracted and on-the-spot freight rates as well as terminal handling charges (THCs) and other non-floating charges but does not include bunker surcharges. The carriers group began unveiling the index in January 2010 and reports it every month, regarding where it was in June 2008 as 100 points.
