Xiamen Customs and Xiamen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau are set to implement a pilot program for paperless customs formalities for export and import goods from May 1, 2013. The move aims to cut cost and time required for customs formalities.
So far, 20 companies are participating in the program which is expected to cut RMB1.4 billion and the operating hours of each consignment by two hours for exporters and importers.
