The latest KOBC Container Composite Index (KCCI) quoted 4,697 points on Monday, according to Korea Ocean Business Corp. (KOBC). Spot rates for container exports from Busan remained steady in general at a time when congestion is worsening at major ports in the world, raising the index 2.31% from a week earlier for an increase for six consecutive weeks.
On the main lanes, the individual KCCIs were up 3.07% to 7,424 points to the U.S. West Coast and up 4.84% to 10,989 points to the U.S. East Coast but down 5.01% to 4,289 points to Europe and down 8.61% to 4,819 points to the Mediterranean.
On the non-main lanes, the KCCIs were down 1.7% to 5,024 points to West Africa but up 0.39% to 8,659 points to the Middle East, up 2.35% to 4,582 points to Australia, up 9.79% to 8,514 points to the east coast of Latin America, up 6.1% to 7,059 points to the west coast of Latin America, and up 1.68% to 3,816 points to Southern Africa.
In intra-Asia waters, the KCCIs were up 1.27% to 1,196 points to Southeast Asia, up 1.28% to 237 points to Japan, and unchanged at 56 points to China.
