Container Berths at the Port of Tokyo exceeded one hour at 10 berths and two hours at two berths but less than one hour at one berth, according to a survey conducted by the Tokyo Trucking Association on 13 berths of the port’s Aomi, Central Outer Breakwater, Oi, and Shinagawa Container Terminals from May 7 through May 28.
Looking at waiting times by service, it took 30 to 60 minutes to gate out empty containers for exports at five berths, one to two hours at three berths, and two hours or longer at two berths. To gate in loaded containers for export, 30 to 60 minutes were consumed at four berths, one to two hours at five berths, and two hours or longer.
To deliver out imported loaded containers, less than 30 minutes were spent at one berth, 30 to 60 minutes at three berths, one to two hours at seven berths, and two hours or longer at two berths. It took less than 30 minutes to deliver in imported empty containers at one berth, 30 to 60 minutes at two berths, one to two hours at six berths, and two hours or longer at two berths.
